Do you still send by post letters or postcards to your friends and family sometimes?

Hello Angelo,

Both words come from the root padala, which means send. Magpadala is the infinitive form of the verb, literally, it is to send. Ipadala on the other hand is conjugated by adding i+root of the verb, to suggest that someone is going to do the action for you. Hence, when I say, I am going to send books to my sister, I will say, “Magpapadala ako ng libre sa aking kapatid.” On the other hand, when I want to say, I will ask/make my sister send books, I will say, “Ipapadala ko sa kapatid ko ang mga libro.”

Hope this helps. More discussions on this conjugation in more advanced lessons. See you there!

Have a nice day!

Hi,

I wonder if you could help me with this, what is the difference between ipadala and magpadala?

TIA

I always do send postcards from different countries. It is so special in this day and age to receive something tangible.
