1. Can you actually learn a language by swiping through pictures?
Does learning a language by swiping through pictures work?
It can, for a very simple reason.
First, just think of all the words and phrases you came across in your target language and forgot afterwards. It’s a lot right? You’d probably be fluent right now IF you actually remembered them all. Well, the key to learning a language is to “get used to language” by getting constant exposure, until it’s easy and stuck in your brain.
And learning with pictures, believe it or not, is one way to do this. I’ll explain how.
So, imagine you had 10 pictures or infographics saved on your phone each one has 10 phrases a piece totaling to 100 phrases. And, all you had to do was glance through and swipe through the phrases for a minute or 2 a day. Kind of like you already do while scrolling through your friends' pictures on social media, except it’s all about language and there are no distractions.
If you did this for just a few minutes a day every day. You’d “get used” to the phrases and remember them all with very little effort just by swiping through and without needing to download new apps or software. That sounds good and all but you’d STILL need to get these pictures and infographics, right?
Part 2. How to Get 100+ Language Infographics for Free.
The good news is, you can download our infographics when you sign up for a free lifetime account. That’s over a hundred pictures and infographics teaching you the most common words and phrases.
And these contain several words and phrases per image so you're not learning just one word at a time. Just download the pictures and infographics to your phone.
Part 3. Bonus Learning Tips
First, organize the pictures. Once you’ve downloaded the files, make sure to create a separate folder or album in your Photos App… and move them there.
Just so you can keep your language and cat memes separate.
Second, decide when you’ll learn. Most of us pull out our phones to waste time and swipe around while we’re on the bus or train, while waiting for someone or while on the couch. So, think about when you’re most likely to do this and designate that as learning time just so your brain automatically knows when to learn.
And third, decide on a learning duration and keep it short. Just decide how much time you’ll dedicate to a review session.
It can be 3, 4, or 5 minutes. A few minutes a day is all you need because the goal here is NOT to memorize for hours but to get used to the words and phrases.
Your brain tends to forget what you tried to memorize once but you’ll always remember what you see every day.
