Gabriella: What are the top 5 language learning fears? And how do you conquer them?
Gabriella: Welcome to Innovative Language.com Sunday News! I'm Gabriella and I'll be hosting today's Sunday news with the founder of Innovative Language... Peter!
Peter: Hi everyone! Peter here.
Gabriella: In this Sunday News, we’re tackling the top common language learning fears submitted by our listeners
Peter: Gabriella, Halloween is coming soon so I got to ask - what part of language learning scares you?
Gabriella: Hearing a ton of words I’ve never heard before definitely makes me panic.
Peter: That’s a good one. And it’s on our list of top 5 language learning fears our listeners sent in.

Gabriella: So what are the top fears that language learners have?
Peter: Let’s start with yours. Being faced with advanced vocabulary and conversation where you simply don’t understanding ANYTHING.
Gabriella: I think every beginner has this as soon as they hear real conversation
Peter: Here’s how you beat it. Our lessons start with the native dialogue only. Scary right?
Gabriella: If you don’t understand anything at all, guess what! You’re going to understand it in the next minute.
Peter: We explain the complete dialogue and you can read along with lesson notes or the line-by-line. You’ll know every single word soon, so don’t worry too much..
Gabriella: Number two... This is a good one. Not making any learning progress.
Peter: This, believe it or not, can be fixed with the first fear. Try a more advanced lesson.
Gabriella: Trying a harder lesson will expose you to new words, new grammar... forcing you to make progress!
Peter: Or if you want to SEE your progress measured... use the dashboard progress tracker with the lessons.
Gabriella: Number three, some of our listeners are afraid of having bad accents and pronunciation.
Peter: The best fix? It’s recording yourself to compare with native speakers.
Gabriella: So listeners, the voice recorder inside the line-by-line audio would be perfect. You can actually hear yourself and the native speaker at the same time to compare.
Peter: Next fear... Running out of things to say because your vocabulary is limited.
Gabriella: This happens to me all the time.
Peter: Two things you can do: For boosting vocabulary, there are vocabulary lists with every lesson... as well as our massive 2,000 word list.
Gabriella: And the second?
Peter: Simple. Just think of what you enjoy talking about, like common topics. And look up vocabulary based on that.
Gabriella: And the last one the list is... very common among all learners - fear of failure.
Peter: That’s a tough fear to tackle. I think it comes from overly ambitious expectations and then realizing you won’t make it.
Gabriella: Best way to beat it, listeners, is .. don’t aim for perfection but set small goals. Like.. two or three lessons a day. Or learning 20 words a week.
Peter: Right. The reason is... small goals are easy to do and easy to grow into bigger accomplishments.
Gabriella: So listeners, leave a comment and let us know your fears.
Peter: And if you want to unlock ALL of our lessons and study tools with a MONSTER 27%
