Hi everyone! I'm Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We've found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you'll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask where something is located. After watching this video, you’ll be able to ask for directions.
Now, let's take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Nasaan po ang supermarket?
Nandoon banda.
Once more with the English translation.
Nasaan po ang supermarket?
“Where is the supermarket?”
Nandoon banda.
“It's over there.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say "Where is [place]?"
The pattern is: Nasaan po [place]?
"Where is [place]?".
For example:
"Where is the supermarket?"
Nasaan po ang supermarket?, Nasaan po ang supermarket?
Now, how do you answer this question?
Nandoon banda.
"It's over there."
Listen to it again: Nandoon banda., Nandoon banda.
This Filipino sentence translates as "There somewhere." But it means "It's over there."
