John: Welcome to 3-Minute Filipino Season 1, Lesson 17 - Why? In this lesson, you'll learn how to ask and answer "Why?" in Filipino.

John: Here's the informal way to ask "Why are you late?" in Filipino.
Camille: [Normal] Bakit ka late?
John: First is a word meaning "why."
Camille: [Normal] bakit [Slow] bakit
John: Next is the word meaning "you."
Camille: [Normal] ka [Slow] ka
John: Last is the word meaning "late."
Camille: [Normal] late [Slow] late
John: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning "Why are you late?"

John: Here's a response meaning, "I missed the train."
