Today, we will cover basic greetings for the appropriate time of the day. As there are quite a few survival phrases to cover, let's jump right in.
In Filipino, "Good morning" is Magandang umaga.
Magandang umaga.
Let's break it down by syllable: Magandang umaga.
Now, let's hear it once again: Magandang umaga.
The first word Magandang means "beautiful," "fine," or "graceful."
Let's break down this word and hear it one more time: Ma-gan-dang.
Magandang.
It is followed by Umaga, which in English is "morning."

And now, the entire phrase, Magandang umaga.
